Visual Art will develop your ability to:

SENIOR CREATIVE ARTS 

Creative Arts will develop your ability to:
  • express ideas, thoughts, feelings and observations of your world
  • define and solve problems and develop social and personal skills
  • make and appraise artworks with confidence and individuality
  • select, explore, manipulate and exploit the potential of materials, techniques, processes and technologies
  • evolve a personal aesthetic and develop personal perspectives
  • value and develop an interest in diverse philosophies and methodologies
  • develop a folio of practical work for selection/entry to tertiary art courses
 
2. What happens in Year 8 Art?
 
The Year 8 Art program introduces a wide variety of media, techniques and processes through practical investigation and exploration of the Elements and Principles of Art and Design. Through this program students will also develop a greater awareness of art movements, artists and artworks from various past and present social and cultural contexts.
 
The course will cover:
 
​Introduction ​The Elements and Principles of Art and Design (colour, line, shape …)
​Making ​Exploration and development (drawing, painting, sculpture)
​Appraising ​Appreciation of artworks (short written tasks)
