Strategic Plan

The strategic plan sets our direction under the three themes of Strong Catholic Identify, Excellent Learning and Teaching, and Building Sustainable Futures.

The strategic plan identifies our aspirations and outlines the strategies for achieving these themes.

NAPLAN Results

Students in Years 7 and 9 sit for the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests managed by Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA).

The NAPLAN tests are designed to assess the skills of Australian students in literacy and numeracy. The specific purposes are:

  • to collect data from the population of Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students for reporting to parents/carers and schools for systematic reporting
  • to accommodate the assessment of students against national minimum standards.

The following areas of literacy are assessed:

  • Language conventions - spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Writing - knowledge and control of written language
  • Reading - comprehension.

In numeracy, the content areas assessed are:

  • Number
  • Measurement, chance and data
  • Space
  • Algebra, function and pattern (formal algebra for Year 9 only).

Results from the tests provide important information about children's progress in literacy and numeracy. Following the tests, schools and students receive a statement of performance in relation to the national minimum standards.

Next Step - Year 12 Destinations

The Next Step survey is undertaken by the Queensland government and targets all students who completed Year 12. The pathways are categorised into ten main destinations. Year 12 completers who were both studying and working are reported as studying for their main destination.
