Welcome to St Patrick’s College,

As Principal, I am proud to be part of a College that is deeply grounded in faith, strong in community, and committed to the growth of every young person in our care.
A proudly Catholic College, we welcome students and families from all faiths and backgrounds. We value the richness of our diverse community and are committed to providing an environment that honours the dignity of each person while preparing students for a rapidly changing world.
At St Patrick’s College, we foster a culture of high expectations and high support for all members of our community. The shared values and beliefs expressed through the ‘St Pat’s Way’ continue to guide our relationships, our learning, and our commitment to forming young people of character, compassion, and integrity.
Our College has a strong reputation for preparing students to make a positive contribution to society. We do this by setting high standards across all aspects of College life and by offering a curriculum offerings that support both academic achievement and vocational pathways. The students here are supported to discover their strengths, pursue their interests, and make informed choices for their future.
We also place great importance on student wellbeing. Our Pastoral Care programs are designed to ensure that every student is known, supported, and encouraged to flourish. We recognise that young people thrive when they feel safe, connected, and challenged, and we are committed to walking alongside them as they grow in confidence, resilience, and purpose.
St Patrick’s College is proud of its rich traditions and family-friendly atmosphere. These foundations continue to shape who we are, even as we respond to the opportunities and challenges of contemporary society. We value strong partnerships with families and believe that respectful, open relationships are central to a thriving school community.
Thank you for considering St Patrick’s College for your child’s secondary education. I invite you to learn more about our College and the opportunities available to young people here.

Kind regards,
Tony

Our History and Mission

St Patrick’s College has a rich heritage rooted in faith and service. Since the arrival of the Sisters of Mercy in Gympie in 1879, and later the Christian Brothers in 1904, the College has been a welcoming home for generations of students and families. The charisms of Catherine McAuley and Edmund Rice continue to inspire our commitment to the spiritual, pastoral, academic, and physical development of each student.

Our mission today reflects this proud tradition.

Our Vision

At St Patrick’s College, we strive to be a faith-filled community guided by the Gospel values of love, forgiveness, respect, sensitivity, and justice.

We are committed to:

Fostering a deep, personal relationship with God
Our strong connection with St Patrick’s Church and Parish, along with a vibrant Religious Education program and a rich prayer life, encourages students to embrace the values and ethos of the Sisters of Mercy and the Christian Brothers.

Living Gospel values in all we do
We aim to model the values of the Catholic faith in our interactions within the school and the wider community. By encouraging personal responsibility and compassion, our students develop as respectful global citizens. Service and social justice initiatives are central to student life, with many students taking active leadership roles in projects that benefit both local and international communities.

Promoting holistic development
We nurture the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth of every student. Recognising that each learner shines in their own way, we provide a broad range of curricular and co-curricular opportunities to help every student let their light shine. It is a privilege to witness their growth and success.
