The Arts are an important part of the vibrant culture of St Patrick’s College, providing students with opportunities to create, perform, collaborate and share their talents with the wider community.
Beyond the classroom, students can participate in College musicals, including collaborations with our local primary school, as well as Art Club, band rehearsals, Dance Troupe, exhibitions in local galleries and a variety of showcase events. Art Club provides students with a relaxed and creative space to develop their own artworks, experiment with ideas and explore a wide range of visual art mediums and techniques.
Our College Dance Troupe provides students with the opportunity to develop their performance skills, work collaboratively and represent the College through performances at local eisteddfods, competitions and community events. These experiences allow students to build confidence as performers while sharing their passion for dance with audiences beyond the College.
Our Artist in Residence program gives students further opportunities to engage with practising artists, while collaboration with a local theatre company allows students to experience the creative and collaborative processes involved in producing live theatre.
Excursions to GOMA and QPAC provide another connection to the wider Arts community, giving students opportunities to experience professional exhibitions and performances. Whether performing on stage, creating and exhibiting artwork, making music, dancing, exploring new artistic mediums or working behind the scenes, there is an opportunity for every student to find their creative place at St Patrick’s College.
