"The Lions youth of the Year program has a proud history in encouraging and fostering leadership skills in Australian students approaching the end of their high school years.
By emphasising qualities like contribution to the community and school, public speaking, academic skills, sporting and cultural involvement, Youth of the Year aims to bring forth the next generations of outstanding young Australians.
The program is for senior students who are contributors to their schools and communities and who wish to challenge themselves to gain experience in public speaking and presenting their credentials to a panel of judges in a non -threatening environment.
The Program is managed and supported by Lions Australia and run by Lions Clubs throughout the whole of Australia in close collaboration with, and supported by, participating Schools."
